Prototype Information: These 244-engineroad switchers were originally built by ALCO from 1946 to 1950 and eventually served a number of well-known railroads across North America.
The RS-2 and RSC-2 are essentially identical from the trucks up. The RS-2 is a four axle unit while the RSC-2 is a six axle locomotive.
The additional axles on the RSC-2 was basically for better weight distribution on lighter rail.
These locomotives were generally run with the long hood forward.
Model Features: Accurate scaled reproduction of prototype with crisp printing and accurate lettering.
Split metal frame, designed for "drop in" installation of DCC decoder.
Equipped KATO five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels and KATO couplers.
Two versions of exhaust stack and two versions of truck axles replicated with these models.
Three factory-decorated roadnames for the RSC-2, plus Undecorated.
Seven popular roadnames to choose from for the RS-2. Undecorated also available.
