The detailing on the shell is incredible. Some features are super thin handrails, see-thru pilot steps, detailed trucks, fuel and air lines, and windshield wipers. All paint schemes are well executed, and include the correct color handrails for each road. The lettering is also very sharp and includes the road number printed above the cab window.

The model operates extremely well for as light as it is. It includes a brass flywheel and will pull 8 to 12 cars easily, depending on the weight of the cars. The model barely draws any amperage on starting, and it is very smooth throughout its speed range, thanks to the flywheel.

Conversion to Micro Trains® couplers is relatively easy with the 1015/1016 conversion kit. Due to variations in the body castings, most engines will take the shim on the bottom, but some will need it on top. Be sure to check the height with a height gauge.
