This is my first layout built in 2007 at Mobile Alabama togather with my wife. It is N scale with 2 main tracks and 10 turnouts. It can accommodate up to 6 engines. DCC with Lenz controller. I moved the entire layout from US to China in 2009. Surprisingly, no shipping damage at all. It is functioning as before. All the tracks are using Bachmann easy track. In 2010, I started change the trains and loco from Bachmann to Fleischmann. Both of them are steam engine train too. In 2013, I modified the layout turnout to control by Arduino processing with computer. Now, I can change the turnout position via touch screen. On top of it, I built the system for the train can dock into the station and stop automatically. This is controlled by the magnetic switch in the track and provide a electrical signal to the PC. PC will changing the turnout position, at the same time the power of this track section will be removed. This made the train stops at the exact position and the PC know any train in the station. | |
