The Deutsche Reichsbahn took over a total of 22 915 locomotives from the former regional railways. As early as 1923, an initial re-identification plan was produced which was aimed at a uniform identification of the locomotive pool. However, it was only in 1925 that the final plan came into force after the locomotives had actually been given their new designations. The construction series 01 to 19 were reserved for express train locomotives: the construction series 01 to 10 included unit locomotives and 11 to 19 included former regional rail locomotives. Regional rail express train locomotives of the axle sequence 2¡¦B were integrated in the series 13. This also included 24 machines of the Wü;rttemberg class AD, which were given the numbers 13 1601 to 13 1624. By now, the machines had slightly changed in appearance; the rounded smoke box doors and the flange chimney had disappeared from many locomotives. The locomotives of the construction series 1316 were allocated to the workshops in Friedrichshafen, Rottweil, Stuttgart- Rosenstein, Tü;bingen and Ulm. However, they were only used for the passenger train service for three years. The last locomotives of the construction series 1316 were taken out of service as early as 1928.

HO 40100 Brawa HO #40100 Bavarian G4/5German locomotive were taken our of service in 1947. the G 4/5 H is making its comeback as a Brawa H0 gauge model in two versions with fascinating details. High quality: chassis, wheels and rigging in die-cast zinc. Affectionate: details such as a fully functioning drive train, true-to-original back boiler plate, driver and stoker in the cab, driver?s cab light, doors that open and close, real coal for the tender. Audible and visible extras: sound and smoke generator, either built-in or as a retrofit option. Another powerful argument: 07.02.2006 release. K.Bay.Sts.E.B. Steam Locomotive G 4/5 H The G 4/5 H is a convincing model with true-to-original details such as fittings and attachement, lights, paintwork and lettering. It?s the details that make the difference. The Bavarian model has 3 rim lights, number plates on the side of the boiler and one rear light on the tender. Boiler, driver?s cab and tender painted in green, the wheels in red.

The 1930s were a decade of major global innovations in the field of railway technology. New electric and diesel-powered locomotives revolutionised the world on rails. Steam locomotives were also improved and attracted a great deal of attention by breaking world records in Germany and Britain, attaining speeds of 200 km/h. How-ever, experts were well aware that the traditional steam engine had reached the end of the road, at least as far as further increases in speed were concerned. Possible solutions were offered by a number of innovations such as single-axle drive systems powered by small steam engines. The Kassel-based traditional locomotive manufacturer, Henschel, built a prototype locomotive for the Deutsche Reichsbahn in order to further investigate this technology.

(HO scale 2-rail DC) Heavy 4-8-4 tender steam locomotive class BR06 of the German Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft DRG in black and red livery with eagles emblems. In order to top off the programme of ¡§standard¡¨ design locomotives, the Deutsche Reichsbahn issued a re-quest for tenders to the locomotive industry in 1934 in respect of the construction of a four-coupled express train locomotive. The Krupp Company in Essen was awarded the contract to initially build two locomotives in this 06 series. Even during the project realisation phase, the Deutsche Reichsbahn¡¦s interest in these giant locomotives began to wane, which explains the long construction period from 1934 to 1939. The Krupp Company delivered the two locomotives 06 001 and 06 002 in March and August 1939 in the DR¡¦s colours at that time ¡V a black body with red wheels and frame. The 06 series had driver wheels with a diameter of 2,000 mm and one front and rear bogie. The three-cylinder engine was designed for smooth running up to a maximum speed of 140 km/h. Coupled with the 5-axle T38St tender (not to be confused with the BR¡¦s 01.10 tender, which has the same name), the BR 06 had a length including buffers of 26,250 mm, which made it the biggest German express train locomotive. The friction burden was 80 tonnes and the locomotive had a service load of 141 tonnes. The total weight of locomotive and tender was 224 tonnes. Epoch II, bi-directional headlights, Digital ready with 21 pin interface, die cast body and chassis, sprung buffers, length: 305mm.
